Official University Welcome

Join your fellow classmates and family members in this can't-miss welcome event at Purcell Pavilion. The Official University Welcome will kick off your career as a Notre Dame student with the Class of 2021! Featured guests will include University President, Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., Vice President of Student Affairs, Erin Hoffmann-Harding, Dean of the First Year of Studies, Dr. Hugh Page, Student Body President and Vice President, Becca Blais and Sib Shewit, the Notre Dame Combined Choirs, and the Notre Dame Marching Band.

Academic Advisor Sessions

First Year Advisors will provide you with the resources and gameplan you need to get through the academic year at Notre Dame. Here's your chance to meet with your advisor and start building your working partnership from the start of the semester!

Welcome Cookout

Don't miss the chance to break bread with the Class of 2021 at the Welcome Cookout immediately following the Official Univerity Welcome! Students and families will be assigned a meal time based on their First Year Advisor Session time.

Wellness Run/Walk and Yoga

Welcome Weekend is a fun and exciting time for students and families alike! To help you "take it all in," join McDonald Center for Student Well-Being and RecSports to start your weekend mornings by giving yourself a moment to reflect, relax, and recharge at your choice of two wellness events - yoga or a group walk. All are welcome - no previous experience is necessary and mats will be provided. See you bright and early on South Quad!

Parent's Program

We're thrilled to welcome your student home at Notre Dame and provide you with the opportunity to learn more about the ND student experience. This Information Reception hosted at the Compton Family Ice Arena provides a chance to learn more about topics such as financial aid, study abroad, student health and wellness, career services, student academic success, and faith. Sessions are open to all parents and guardians. Coffee and Light refreshments available at 8:30 AM. 

1) 9:00 - 9:30 AM - Financial Aid 

2) 9:45 - 10:15 AM - Notre Dame International 

3) 10:30 - 11:15 AM - Career Center 

4) 11:30 AM - Thomas G. Burish, Charles and Jill Fischer Provost 

5) 12:15 PM - Lunch Distribution and Information Tables

Rector and Hall Staff Welcome

The Rector and Hall Staff Welcome gives parents the opportunity to hear from their student's residence hall leadership and ask any questions they might have regarding residence life at Notre Dame. By the end of the event, we're confident that you'll walk away with the understanding that your child is in great hands in their new Home Under the Dome!

Multicultural Reception

Hosted by the Division of Student Affairs and First Year of Studies, the Multicultural Reception is a chance for historically underrepresented students and allies to connect, network, and learn about opportunities and resources available on campus through various departments and cultural student clubs. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and refreshments provided.
