Fall Mall

Stop by Stepan Center for a variety of items such as linens, hangers, futons, etc. from Bed Bath & Beyond and Carpet & Tile Depot. The Student Union Board’s Fall Mall offers convenience for those who may not be able to shop off-campus easily while moving into their new home under the dome.

Move In

Welcome to the University of Notre Dame, Class of 2022! As you arrive, our Welcome Teams will greet you and your guests, assist you in the move-in process, and help introduce you to your new residence hall community. We hope you will experience the Notre Dame spirit of hospitality upon your arrival!

Campus Ministry Hot Dog Tent

After a long morning of moving into your new residence hall home, you've definitely earned yourself a hot dog! Swing by the Campus Ministry Hot Dog Tent on South Quad to say hello to some of the friendly faces who will help you along your faith journey while a student at Notre Dame. Yes, just this once, there is such a thing as a free lunch.

Student Services Resource Fair

What's better than putting all of a student's available resources together in one location during your first day on campus? The Student Services Resource Fair in the Duncan Student Center does just that. Make sure to stop by to check out tables featuring a wide variety of offices and departments from across campus.

What if I'm Not Catholic?

Ever wonder what the Catholic Mass is all about? Trying to figure out how you can find your place at Notre Dame as a student from another faith background? Look no further than Campus Ministry's "What if I'm Not Catholic?".  Our team of Campus Ministers will help connect you to faith resources at Notre Dame and in the South Bend community, and will help illuminate the ways we celebrate the Catholic faith throughout the year.

Official University Welcome ☘️

Join your fellow classmates and family members in this can't-miss welcome event at Purcell Pavilion. The Official University Welcome will kick off your career as a Notre Dame student! Featured guests will include University President, Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., Vice President of Student Affairs, Erin Hoffmann Harding, Associate Provost, Dr. Hugh Page, the Student Body President and Vice President, the Notre Dame Combined Choirs, and the Notre Dame Marching Band.

Academic Advisor Sessions ☘️

This is an opportunity for all first year students and parents to meet with their assigned first year advisor in a group setting to learn more about academic expectations, the First Year of Studies, and the advising relationship. Information will be given about how to make changes to fall class schedules, the core curriculum, and other first year requirements. Individual times and locations will be assigned by advisor this summer.

Students have been assigned to meet with their advisor in one of the following time blocks: 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Please review the Academic Advisor Session Information page for details on your session.

Welcome Cookout

Grab a bite to eat with the Class of 2022 at the Welcome Cookout! Students and families will be assigned a meal time based on their First Year Advisor Session time.

Wellness Run/Walk, Yoga, and Mindful Steps

Welcome Weekend is a fun and exciting time for students and families alike! To help you "take it all in," join McDonald Center for Student Well-Being, RecSports, and the Snite Museum of Art to start your weekend mornings by giving yourself a moment to reflect, relax, and recharge at your choice of two wellness events - yoga or a group walk. All are welcome - no previous experience is necessary and mats will be provided. See you bright and early at the Snite Museum of Art!

Parents' Program

We're thrilled to welcome your student home at Notre Dame and provide you with the opportunity to learn more about the ND student experience. Each session and speaker are listed as individual events on the schedule. Sessions are open to all parents and guardians to attend at their discretion. Coffee and light refreshments will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Parents' Program: The Center for Career Development: Navigating the Career Development Process

Presented by: 
Bridget Kibbe, Director of Undergraduate Career Services

The Center for Career Development provides undergraduate students with numerous resources to assist them in determining their career direction, and conducting successful searches for internships, jobs, and graduate programs. Through this session, we hope you will have a better understanding of how Career Development supports students in the discernment of their future career aspirations.

Parents' Program: Featured Speaker & Lunch

Please join us to hear about the Notre Dame community and what it means to be a part of the Notre Dame family from our featured speaker, Mr. Louis M. Nanni, Vice President for University Relations. Mr. Nanni will share his experiences as Notre Dame alum, university leader, and a current Notre Dame parent. Mr. Nanni's remarks will be followed by a box lunch available for all parents in attendance.

Rector and Hall Staff Welcome

The Rector and Hall Staff Welcome gives parents the opportunity to hear from their student's residence hall leadership and ask any questions they might have regarding residence life at Notre Dame. By the end of the event, we're confident that you'll walk away with the understanding that your child is in great hands in their new Home Under the Dome!

Multicultural Panel and Reception

The Multicultural Panel and Reception is a chance for historically underrepresented students and allies to connect, network, and learn about opportunities and resources available on campus through various departments and cultural student clubs. There will be a 20 minute panel discussion featuring current students and their faculty mentors followed by a reception to allow for students and families to talk with current students, administrators, faculty, and each other. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and refreshments provided.

The University of Notre Dame invites all new students and families from all faith backgrounds to the Celebration of the Welcome Mass at the Joyce Center's Purcell Pavilion. Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C. will preside, with homilist Rev. Peter McCormick, C.S.C.
