Move In

Welcome to your Home Under the Dome! Residence halls serve as one source of community for Notre Dame students. You'll find that you will make friends in your residence halls from your transfer class, past transfer classes, and students of all years. New transfers have the privilege of being some of the first to arrive for the academic year. Enjoy Our Lady's famous "spirit of hospitality" as we welcome you to the Notre Dame family.

Welcome Registration

Time to kick off Transfer Welcome Weekend! Meet in McKenna Hall to meet your welcome committee and other transfer students. Here you will receive a folder with important information for the weekend ahead.

Welcome Mass

The University of Notre Dame invites Transfer Students and Parents from all faith backgrounds to the celebration of the Welcome Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Rev. Pete McCormick, C.S.C. will preside. Students will receive Notre Dame medals that are blessed during the ceremony and are welcome to join in on the Notre Dame Alma Mater at the end of mass. Please join us in full heart and voice!

Class Registration and Enrollment

Class Registration and Enrollment Presentations will be hosted by individual undergraduate colleges. Students should follow instructions provided to them via email.

Campus Ministry Hot Dog Tent

After a long morning of moving into your new residence hall home, you've definitely earned yourself a hot dog! Swing by the Campus Ministry Hot Dog Tent on South Quad to say hello to some of the friendly faces that will help you along your faith journey while a student at Notre Dame.

Official University Welcome

Join your fellow classmates and family members in this can't-miss welcome event at Purcell Pavilion. The Official University Welcome will kick off your career as a Notre Dame student with the Class of 2021! Featured guests will include University President, Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., Vice President of Student Affairs, Erin Hoffmann-Harding, Dean of the First Year of Studies, Dr. Hugh Page, Student Body President and Vice President, Becca Blais and Sib Shewit, the Notre Dame Combined Choirs, and the Notre Dame Marching Band.

Transfer Students and Parents are invited to attend the Welcome Cookout in the Notre Dame Football Stadium.

Wellness Run/Walk and Yoga

Welcome Weekend is a fun and exciting time for students and families alike! To help you "take it all in," join McDonald Center for Student Well-Being and RecSports to start your weekend mornings by giving yourself a moment to reflect, relax, and recharge at your choice of two wellness events - yoga or a group walk. All are welcome - no previous experience is necessary and mats will be provided. See you bright and early on South Quad!

Parent's Program

We're thrilled to welcome your student home at Notre Dame and provide you with the opportunity to learn more about the ND student experience. This Information Reception provides a chance to learn more about topics such as financial aid, study abroad, student health and wellness, career services, student academic success, and faith. Sessions are open to all parents and guardians. Coffee and Light refreshments available at 8:30 AM.
