Welcome Week: Spring 2022
Your Welcome Week experience will begin on January 9, 2022! While you are encouraged to attend all Welcome Week events, any event with a ☘️ in the title is an event that is required of all new students! Events with a 💚 are designed for students to be accompanied by their guests. Additional student-only activities and events taking place after January 10 will be added systematically as the spring semester draws nearer. So, be sure to revisit this site often to view updates!
Pre-Arrival Tasks and Resources
Beginning mid-December, new students will be able to access "Canvas," Notre Dame's online environment designed to facilitate teaching and learning. As a student, many of your courses will use Canvas to share information, enable collaboration and discussion, and provide feedback critical to your growth as a scholar. Canvas is also a tool that you can use to complete several required tasks as you step into your first semester at Notre Dame.

Move-In and Residence Hall Welcome💚
Welcome to the University of Notre Dame! As you arrive, our Welcome Teams will greet you and your guests and introduce you to your new residence hall community. Residence halls open for the Spring 2022 semester on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 9:00 AM. New students to the University, including transfer students, are encouraged to arrive between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM to their assigned residence hall. We hope you will experience the Notre Dame spirit of hospitality upon your arrival! Check out the Office of Residential Life website for details regarding the move-in process. Campus Card Office Open (if needed)
Your ID card will be issued during the check-in process at your residence hall. To ensure your Irish1Card is printed and waiting for you upon arrival, you will need to submit a photo that meets the ID requirements on the Welcome Week Canvas Site. Run into trouble? No problem - visit the Campus Card Office in Grace Hall!
New Student Welcome Reception💚☘️
All new students and their families are invited to join University leaders, staff, faculty, and student leaders as we celebrate your arrival! Together, we will joyfully enter into conversation, prayer, and the gift of the Notre Dame community. Boxed lunches, will be available for all new students and families at the conclusion of the reception. Students can still register for the Welcome Reception by completing the Welcome Week Pre-Arrival Survey.
Please note: Until further notice, all visitors to campus are required to wear masks inside campus buildings at all times. All students, faculty, and staff are expected to wear masks indoors on campus, except when alone in private offices, or for students, in their residence halls. Parents and guests should be prepared to wear a mask when indoors throughout Welcome Week. In light of these recent COVID-19 protocol changes, family members and guests no longer need to complete the Welcome Week Guest Attestation Form as previously requested.

Get to know your campus! Notre Dame has many spaces on campus for dining, studying, socializing, and recreational activities. You can learn all about them on this tour led by student leaders. This tour, leaving from the steps of Main Building, will give you an opportunity to get oriented to specific areas of your new campus, meet other students, and learn more about opportunities to get involved on campus.
Academic Services for Student-Athletes Orientation (student-athletes only; required)💚
The office of Academic Services for Student-Athletes will introduce new student-athletes to staff, while also outlining available resources, academic expectations, and mandatory transition programs. Other commitments will be communicated by your respective teams
Farewell at the Grotto💚
The time has come for parents and families to say goodbye and let you continue your new journey at Notre Dame. At your convenience, you and your family may wish to visit the Grotto during this window and utilize the prayer offered at the New Student Welcome Reception to share in a moment of reflection, gratitude, and celebration.

Intramural and Interhall Sport Registration Begins
To register for all Intramural Sports, you must first create an account through IMLeagues. Once your account is set up, you can now register a team to play or as a free agent. Spots are limited, and will be taken on a first-come, first served basis. Other RecSports events include:
- Try It You'll Like It Week - all group fitness classes are drop in and free January 10-16.

Walk the Walk Week Begins
This year marks the sixth annual campus-wide observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Walk the Walk Week, a week-long series of University and department sponsored events designed to help us consider how we—both individually and collectively—might take an active role in making Notre Dame even more welcoming and inclusive. University President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C. invites you to participate in one or more of the week's offerings. All are welcome!

2022 In-Person Spring Semester Career Fair Begins
This year’s In-Person Spring Semester Career Fair & Events will be hosted on January 24 & 25 at Duncan Student Center on the 7th & 8th floors! This two-day format provides flexibility for students and employers to meet in both large traditional fair settings and at smaller events. Our fair provides students from all class years and all academic majors a chance to meet with employers of all sizes across all industries promoting full-time employment, internship, and other career opportunities.
